ROOKS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 1:30p.m. Saturday in Rooks County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by Joseph P.. Plante, 46, Natoma, was westbound on Z Road six miles south of Plainville. The Silverado and a 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty driven by Derek T. Pfannebecker, 25, Norwalk, Iowa, collided in the middle of the road, on a hill just east of 23rd Road.
EMS traansported both driver to the Rooks County Health Center where Plante was pronounced deceased. The drivers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the KHP..
