
CASS COUNTY —One person died in an accident with a train just after 9:30a.m. Tuesday south of Kansas City.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol a FedEx truck was attempting to cross the railroad tracks on Hereford Road and Smart Road near Pleasant Hill.
The driver of the truck failed to yield. A southbound Amtrak train struck the FedEx truck. The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no injuries on the train. Pleasant Hill is approximately 35 miles southeast of Kansas City. Authorities have not released the driver's name.
