Police learn of alleged sex crimes during Kan. domestic violence call

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged child sex crimes.

Just before 9p.m. March 1, police responded to the domestic violence call in the 600 block of W. Patterson, according to Officer Chad Ditch.

At the scene, police spoke with 36-year-old woman who said that she had been beaten and threatened by 34-year-old Joshua Selby of Wichita.

Investigators also learned of alleged sex crimes that had occurred between Selby and a girl under 14.

Detectives with the Exploited and Missing Child Unit were called to assist with the investigation. Police arrested Selby on requested charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child,  rape of a victim under 14, aggravated assault, domestic battery and battery.
