SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a weekend homicide in Wichita.
Just before 8p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of N. Topeka in Wichita, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.
First responders located a 50-year-old man lying in a parking lot, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators are actively pursuing leads to establish the sequence of events leading to the shooting and to identify the suspect involved. Police did not release the name of the victim.
