
SEDGWICK COUNTY— Police have arrested a Kansas felon in connection with a shooting that injured a 36-year-old man in Wichita.
Just before 2a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to an aparatment in the 1400 block of South Main Street in Wichita and located the victim near Boston and Main with gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to a media release from police. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
At the shooting scene officers contacted eight people inside the apartment.
Through interviews and follow-up investigation, detectives identified 27-year-old Keyshawn D. Gruver as the suspect believed to be involved in the shooting, according county booking records. He was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges of felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated battery.
Gruver has previous convictions for drugs and interference with law enforcement , according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
