
KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City area high school teacher is facing charges for possessing child pornography on a school computer.
Austin Meyer, a drama teacher at Truman High School, faces 11 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.

According to court records, Independence police were advised by school officials that 11 gigabytes of child pornography had been found on the Meyer's computer. Officers arrested Meyer and he is in custody on a $100,000 cash bond.
The Independence School District announced Meyer was placed on administrative leave due to the criminal investigation.
