
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a reported bomb threat in Topeka.
Just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from an individual reporting that he had left an explosive device inside the Walmart, 1501 SW Wanamaker, according to Topeka Police LT Kerry Connell.
The business was evacuated, and members from the Topeka Police Department’s Bomb Unit and K9 Unit, along with the Shawnee County Sheriff's K9 Unit responded to the scene.
Just after 4p.m. Saturday police reported the store was safe and investigators found no devices. The Walmart is open and has resumed normal operations. Police released no additional details.
