Kansas man found beaten, left on the ground

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a brutal beating that sent a man to the hospital.

Just before 11:00 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 Block of North Kansas, on a report of a person on the ground who had been battered, according to Topeka. Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.

Officers located a man with life-threatening injuries caused by blunt force trauma. American Medical Response transported the victim to an area hospital.

As a result of the investigation Xavian M. Locke, 25, of Topeka was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Attempted Murder in the 1st degree, Kidnapping; in the flight or commission of any crime and Aggravated battery; knowingly use weapon to cause great bodily harm/disfigure/death.
