SEDGWICK COUNTY— At approximately 2:44 a.m. Saturday, Wichita Police officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at an apartment complex in the 500 block of North Nims, according to a media release.
Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper torso. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.
Officers also located three additional victims who had been battered during the incident: a 28-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old man.
The suspects fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Preliminary investigation indicates a large disturbance occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex before shots were fired. Officers and detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and continuing to gather information.
