JACKSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 8:30p.m. Wednesday in Jackson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported an eastbound train struck a 2002 Toyota Tacoma driven by Adam P. Foster, 51, Rossville, that was stopped facing north on the railroad tracks just north of 94th Road on a Private drive.
Foster was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Medical. There were no injuries on the train. Foster was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP. The patrol had no additional details on why the driver was at that location at the time of the accident.
