SEDGWICK COUNTY—One person died in an accident that occurred just before 2a.m. Sunday in Sedgwick County.
According to Sedgwick Sheriff's Department spokesman Branden Stitt, a Honda Accord driven by 19-year-old Israel Nava of Wichita was northbound in the 3200 Block of North Greenwich Road. The car traveled off the roadway, struck a street sign, a fire hydrant, an electrical box and rolled multiple times. Nava was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses estimated Nava's speed exceeded 100 mph, according to Stitt.
Deputies are also determining whether impairment contributed to the crash.
