ASSARIA -- A small earthquake shook part of southern Saline County this morning. 

According to the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS), a 2.3 magnitude quake struck northeast of Assaria at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. The temblor was centered approximately a mile south of Kansas Highway 4 between South Simpson Road and South Woodward Road.
