JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating a fatal accident that occurred just before 11a.m. Wednesday in Johnson County have identified the two victims as Douglas Courtney, 62, and Shannon Courtney, 57, both of Shawnee, according to a statement from Shawnee Police.
The two vehicle crash occurred on northbound Kansas 7 near West 47th Street.
The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. They were not seriously injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Shawnee Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
