Kansas woman accused of knife attack that sent man to hospital

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a stabbing have made an arrest.

Just before 5:00 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 700 block of NE Poplar in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Kerry Connell.  First responders locate a man suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. American Medical Response transported to a local area hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Paula A. Lewellyn, 50, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Aggravated battery; Knowingly use weapon cause great body harm/disfigure/death and Interference with Law enforcement officer; obstruct/resist/oppose felony warrant service or execution. Lewellyn and the victim were known to each other, according to Connell.
