SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have two suspects in custody.
Just before 1:30a.m. Thursday, with icy winter weather in the forecast, police responded to report of a suspicious vehicle at 2129 NE Meriden in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
At the scene, officers found that two suspects later identified as 50-year-old Brian R. Stevenson and 60-year-old Francis L. Stadler both of Topeka. They were allegedly working to burglarize the property, according to Stanley.
Police arrested both men and they are being held on requested charges of felony theft and burglary, according to Stanley.
