SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on multiple allegations after a vehicle pursuit and crash.
On Friday evening, police attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Joe Perry. The driver of the suspect vehicle initiated a pursuit. Officers discontinued the pursuit at 16th and Wanamaker.
The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Robert Mac-Lee Thomas lost control at 17th and Wanamaker and the vehicle crashed.
The suspect then fled officers on foot before being apprehended.
Thomas was booked into Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Felony flee and elude; Criminal possession of a firearm by a felon; possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; interference; and multiple traffic offenses. He has a previous drug conviction, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
