RENO COUNTY— Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire at a home early Thursday in Reno County.
Just before 1:15 a.m. Reno County Fire District#3, along with an automatic tender response from Buhler Fire and Hutch Fire were dispatched to a fire at a home in the 200 block of north Paine in Nickerson, according to Reno County Emergency Management.
First arriving crews encountered a fully involved home. Hutch Fire and Reno County Fire District #8 were requested for mutual aide and provided extra man power to assist with the fire. The occupants were able to escape the fire and there were no firefighter injuries.
Reno County EMS provided rehab to crews on scene. The home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
