JOUNSON COUNTY —Sometimes, our four-legged friends know exactly what to do.
Several nights ago, a police officer was patrolling a residential neighborhood when he spotted a dog standing in the roadway, according to a social media report from Leawood Police. The officer noticed the dog was on a leash, but there was no owner in sight.
The officer followed the dog about half a block to its home, where the officer found the garage door open and the homeowner on the floor, unable to get up. The resident had been there for more than three hours.
"Thanks to the resident’s loyal companion, the officer was able to find the homeowner and get them the help they needed. The resident was treated by medical personnel and is now recovering safely at home."
