SUMNER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 9:30p.m. Friday in Sumner County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Cadillac ATS driven by Jordan L. Wade, 22, Arkansas City, was westbound on US 166 on north south of South Haven.
The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of US Highway 166 and US Highway 81. The car traveled through the intersection into the northwest ditch, rolled and struck a tree on the driver side door and roof area.
Wade was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Cornejo Funeral Home. EMS transported a passenger Anthony White-Spencer, 23, Arkansas City, to Wesley Medical Center. Wade was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
