BUTLER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 5:30p.m. Thursday in Butler County.
According Butler County Undersheriff Daimon Cundiff witnesses reported a 2021 Ford Edge driven by 68-year-old Michael D. Strack of rural Augusta, was southbound on US 77 near SW 150th south of Augusta. The SUV traveled off the road, continued over a raised field access, went airborne, land landed front end first in the ditch.
When emergency crews first arrived, Strack was still in the vehicle but extricated very quickly. It is believed the crash was caused by a medical condition. He was transported to a Wichita area hospital where he later died.
