LABETTE COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just after 3p.m. Wednesday in Labette County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Harley Davidson XL883 driven by Ryan J. Myers, 38, Altamont, was northbound on U.S. 59. two miles northeat of Altamont. The motorcycle crossed left of the center line and collided with a southbound 2020 Jeep Gladiator Pickup driven by Shaun T. Powell, 55, Fort Scott, head-on.
Myers and a passenger Samantha A. Cahow, 30, Parsons, were both ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. They were transported to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Powell and a passenger were not injured. Myers and Cahow were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
