SHERIDAN COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Friday in Sheridan County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Kenworth semi driven by Jamie Beeson, 54, Scott City, was traveling on U.S. 24 seven miles west of Kansas 23 Highway.
The semi struck a struck a 2018 Ram driven by Brenton Phillips, 63, Selden who was stopped behind a 2014 Peterbilt semi driven by Guy Wolf, 76, Syracuse, Nebraska.
The impact pushed the Ram into the Peterbilt.
The Kenworth and Ram came to rest in the south ditch. The Peterbilt semi came to rest on the shoulder approximately a quarter mile east of the accident scene.
Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Mickey Leopold Mortuary. A private vehicle transported Beeson to the Sheridan County Hospital. Wolf was not injured. Phillips was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
