
SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement in the Wichita area are investigating a shooting and asking the public for help with identifying vehicles and the suspects involved.
Just before midnight on Feb. 15, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 3000 block of E. Fairhaven in the south Wichita neighborhood of Oaklawn, according to a media release.
Upon arrival, deputies found multiple shell casings in the street and determined that several residences and vehicles had been damaged by gunfire. Fortunately, no one in the area was struck by the gunfire.
Investigators believe a light-colored Ford Explorer, a dark-colored four-door sedan and gray 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer were involved in the incident. The shooters are believed to have been associated with the unidentified Ford Explorer and four-door sedan. The Investigations Division is now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicles.
Residents of the Oaklawn area are encouraged to review any exterior surveillance footage from 11:30 p.m. on Feb.15 to 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 16 for sightings of the involved vehicles.
