SEWARD COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 4p.m. Thursday in Seward County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1993 Chevy 1500 driven by Emilee Megan Grace Hamilton, 15, Liberal, was stopped at the stop sign on County Road 17 at the Junction of U.S. 54.
The driver failed to yield, turned westbound onto U.S 54 in front of 2025 Kenworth semi driven by James Campbell Bailey, 60, Wichita.
The semi collided with the picku in the intersection.
Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Hornung Funeral Home. Bailey was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
