MILLER COUNTY —Eight people were injured and one arrested after an accident just before midnight Saturday at Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Nortech driven by Adam J. Ramirez, 47, Huntington Beach, California, was eastbound at the 1.3 mile mark of the Osage Arm of the main channel.

The boat ran aground, struck a home, overturned and all eight on board were ejected.

Troopers arrested Ramirez in requested charges of BWI causing serious physical injury, according to online jail records. He was released for medical treatment.

EMS transported Ramirez and three other adults from California, a man and woman in their 50s from Mississippi, a 23-year-old woman from Illinois and a 28-year-old man from Michigan to Lake Regional Hospital.  None were wearing life jackets, according to the MSHP.
