
BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after an arrest in Barton County.
Just before 10:30p.m. November 27, police contacted 41-year-old Laveta Elam in the 200 block of Main Street in Great Bend, according to a statement from police.
Barton County Communications confirmed Elam to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. While being taken into custody, Elam refused to comply with the Officer's directives, and actively resisted arrest.
Elam was ultimately arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail. While at the Barton County Jail, narcotics were located, hidden on Elam's person.
Elam was booked into jail on requested charges of Resisting Arrest, Trafficking Contraband into a Correctional Facility, and the Failure to Appear warrant.
