RENO COUNTY— The preliminary is set for Tuesday for registered Kansas sex offender on numerous counts of inappropriate contact with children. 

Wayne Willard, 34, Hutchinson is charged with 10 counts of rape of a child under the age of 14. Each count carries a mandatory 50 years in prison. He’s also charged with Rape by force which carries a possible sentence of 12 to 54 years, and an alternative count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He was arrested by law enforcement back in April of this year.

The investigation started with an incident reported to patrol deputies. They got detectives involved and another victim and more incidents were reported. It is suspected that there may be several more victims and more incidents may have occurred.

 Willard has been a registered sex offender since 2008 for convictions that include aggravated indecent liberties with a child and sexual battery, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

The hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
