KANSAS CITY —As the Kansas City metro area prepares for an influx of people attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Jackson County, Missouri sheriff's office is preparing for additional sex offenders, according to a media release from the sheriff's office.
Pursuant to Missouri law, any person who has been or is required to register elsewhere and who has a temporary residence in Missouri for more than seven days in a twelve-month period is required to register with the chief law enforcement official.
The Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement Office is located at 1315 Locust, Suite 100, Kansas City Missouri. The office is open Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 3:15p.m., excluding holidays.
To accommodate existing sex offenders as well as those visiting for the World Cup, the sheriff's office is opening their office on five Saturdays June 13, 20, June 27 and July 11 and July 18.
