SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple allegations after she ran from a traffic stop.
Just before 3a.m. August 13, a deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a red 2012 Chevrolet Equinox in the 2000 block of SE 11th Street for speeding, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
The driver later identified as 22-year-old Alyiah L. Love of Topeka failed to stop and quickly fled the vehicle on foot in the 1200 block of SE Republican Avenue.
After a search, a Topeka police officer located Love nearby and she was placed into custody. During the investigation, illegal narcotics were located.
Love was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include possession of a certain stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, operating a motor vehicle without registration, no vehicle liability insurance and speeding. She is no longer in custody.
