Kansas jail deputy accused of criminal threat, aggravated assault

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. – Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy Michelle Estes was arrested on Monday on suspicion of Domestic Aggravated Assault and Criminal Threat, according to a media release from the sheriff's department.

 Estes, 27, has been employed by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office since June 2021.  She is currently suspended from duty, pending the outcome of the criminal case and an internal investigation.

She remains jailed prior to a court appearance.
