Police: Kansas man injured in July 4 motorcycle accident has died

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal accident and have identified the victim as Brandon S. Riha, 27 of Topeka. 

Just before 11p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2700 block of SW Fairlawn in Topeka on a report of an injury accident, according to Lt. Manuel Munoz.

Upon arrival, officers located Riha suffering from life threating injuries and a motorcycle in the middle of the intersection.

EMS transported Riha to a local hospital for treatment. He died on Sunday, according to Munoz.

Officers located the other vehicle involved and that driver a few blocks away; he was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have not released the name of the other driver or additional details as they continue their investigation.
