SEDGWICK COUNTY—Authorities are investigating a fatal dog attack in Wichita.
Just after 4 p.m. Saturday, police responded to report of a dog bite at a home in the 2900 block of West Murdock in Wichita, according to a media release. First responders found 40-year-old Moeshae Thomas, who was injured.
Investigators determined there were two pit bulls, owned by the family, inside the home and they were fighting. Thomas attempted to break up the dogs when she was attacked.
EMS transported Thomas a local hospital in extremely critical condition, but later died.
The dogs have been surrendered to Wichita Animal Services.
