2-month-old girl wounded in KC triple shooting has died

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A 2-month-old girl has died from injuries sustained last week in a triple shooting in Kansas City, authorities say.

Police identified the infant Monday in a news release as Desiree Bowden. She was in critical condition when officers responded Sept. 26 to a shooting.

Emergency crews also found 27-year-old Davon Bowden dead and a second adult suffering from non life-threatening injuries. Police said another child was inside the residence at the time of the shooting but wasn't harmed.

Police said no suspects are being sought and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. No other details were immediately released.

KANSAS CITY —A child wounded in a shooting in Kansas City on Monday remains in critical condition, according to police spokesperson Adrianne Ortega.

Just before 2p.m., officers were called to a home in the 2500 block of Hardesty Avenue in Kansas City after a report of sounds of gunshots in the area.   

Upon arrival, officers located three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a residence, two adults and one juvenile.   EMS responded to the scene.  One adult victim was declared deceased at the scene.  The second adult victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The juvenile victim, under 5 years old, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.  There was a second juvenile inside the residence who did not suffer any injuries. 

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to process the scene for evidence and speak to any potential witnesses.   They also canvassed the area for anyone who saw or heard anything and are looking for any video evidence.

Police have not released names of the victim or additional details.
