KANSAS CITY —A child was injured in an accident that occurred just after 1p.m. Saturday in Kansas City, Missouri.
A black SUV was northbound on N. Jackson approaching East Windsor Street, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina. At the same time a boy under the age of 10 was riding a scooter on East Windsor. The child failed to stop at the stop sign causing a collision.
EMS transported the child to an area hospital for treatment of critical injuries, according to Becchina. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with officers. The accident remains under investigation.
