KBI: Statewide Silver Alert for Kansas man missing since Aug. 2

WICHITA – The Wichita Police Department (WPD) requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Wichita man, according to a media release from the KBI.

The whereabouts of 69-year-old Roosevelt Sims are unknown and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.

Sims was first reported missing to the WPD on July 25, 2025, by his wife. He was last seen in Wichita at the Wesley Medical Center, 550 N Hillside St, on August 2, 2025. Sims was seen for minor discomfort and discharged the same day.

Sims is a black male who is 6 feet tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He has long white hair in a ponytail, and was last seen wearing a black ballcap with "chicken chasing" written on the side, a dark blue t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. Sims has dementia.
