Kan. teen airlifted to hospital after ejected in violent pickup crash

FORD COUNTY—A Kansas teen was injured in an accident just after 3:30a.m. Sunday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Ford F250 driven by Hadley Garrett Fisher,  17, Spearville, was eastbound on Jewell Road approximately five miles east of Wright.

The pickup traveled into the south ditch, struck a driveway embankment, went airborne and impacted a field entrance.

The pickup then struck a fence post causing it to spin, roll and the driver was ejected. During the crash, the vehicle destroyed several hundred feet of cable and barbed wire fence.

EMS transported Fisher to the hospital in Dodge City and he was later transferred to Children's Mercy in Kansas City for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
