
ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas sex offender on new charges after
Shortly after midnight on Monday night an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle in the the 100 block South 4th in Atchison for not having a vehicle license tag, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. The officer subsequently found the driver, Danny Groshong, to be in possession of controlled substances.
Police arrested 32-year-old Danny E. Groshong of Atchison, on requested charges of no vehicle tag, no vehicle insurance, driving without a license, and possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
He has previous convictions for rape of a child under the age of 14 and aggravated indecent liberties. He's been listed as a registered offender since 2011, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
