JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating a double fatality crash involving a single vehicle that occurred just after 10:30p.m. on Saturday have identified the victims.

The driver of the vehicle was 16-year-old Hayden C. Doherty of Overland Park and the passenger was 17-year-old Addison Askew of Olathe, according to Olathe Police Sergeant John Moncayo.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Northgate Street and East Harold Street in reference to an iPhone crash notification, according to Olathe Police Sergeant John Moncayo.

Upon arrival, officers observed a passenger vehicle that had struck a tree and was actively engulfed in flames. The Olathe Fire Department was also on scene and extinguished the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, the bodies of the victims were found inside.

There does not appear to be any signs of criminal activity, according to Moncayo.
