Sheriff: Kan. man transporting drugs accused of DUI again

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegaions following a traffic stop.

Just after 10:30p.m. Jan. 12, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 1979 Ford Mustang near 150th and Q.4 Road for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The deputy observed what was believed to be drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle was conducted, where methamphetamine, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, a hallucinogenic drug and open containers of alcohol were located.

The deputy arrested the driver 57-year-old Bruce Leroy Bowers of Harveyville and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of  Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of a hallucinogenic drug,  Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, 3rd conviction,  Transporting open container,  Operating motor vehicle w/o license and Improper driving on laned roadway.
