ALLEN COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 5:30p.m. Tuesday in Allen County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Chevy Malibu driven by Morgan L. Wakefield, 29, Mound City, was northbound on U.S. 169 approximately 6 miles south of Humboldt.
The car crossed the center line and struck a 2018 Ram 1500 driven by Shawn M. Petterborg, 52, Stockton, Kansas.
Wakefield was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Petterborg to Wesley Medical Center. EMS transported passengers in the pickup identified as Angie J. Hale, 50; Caitlyn E. Hale, 31, and a 9-year-old girl all of Independence, Kansas, to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Wasefield was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
