Texas murder suspect captured in Kansas after report of suspicious vehicle

JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after an arrest.

On August 24, midnight shift officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle near 76th Street and Norwood in Prairie Village, according to a media release.

Officers arrived, located the suspicious vehicle, and contacted the driver later identified as 22-year-old Jaylen Stallworth of Wylie, Texas. A search of the vehicle was conducted after drugs were observed in the car.

During the search, officers recovered a firearm that was stolen from Fort Worth, Texas. Stallworth was also found to be a felon in possession of a firearm. After the arrest, Prairie Village police were notified that the Stallworth was also wanted in a homicide in Dallas.

Stallworth remains jailed in Johnson County on a requested charges of felony firearm theft and marijuana possession.

Police reminded, "you never know how far a stolen gun may travel, so please secure your personal firearms."
