
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating a weekend homicide in Kansas City have identified the victim as 38-year-old Karl. E. Liggans, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Just after 8:30p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Overton in Kansas City, Missouri on a reported shooting.
Officers arrived at the scene where they were directed inside of a townhome and located Ligans suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. Officers rendered medical aid until EMS pronounced him deceased.
There is no preliminary information that indicated what may have lead up to the shooting. A unknown male suspect is believed to have left the area prior to police arrival. A person of interest has not yet been identified and no one is in custody.
