BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect for an alleged sex crime.
Just after 10:30p.m. October 22, police responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Adams Street in Great Bend in reference to a medical emergency.
When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old unconscious on the floor in the kitchen area of the residence. Officers also contacted 36-year-old Joshua Anderson inside of the residence. Great Bend Fire and EMS also responded and transported the woman to the local hospital.
While the woman was being treated, medical staff became aware that she was possibly the victim of a sexual assault, and evidence of the crime was collected at the hospital. Great Bend Police Detectives investigated this incident and probable cause was established that a sexual assault had occurred.
Just before 9:30p.m. October 23, police located Anderson in the 1200 block of Jefferson, Great Bend .He was arrested and booked into the Barton County jail on a requested charge of Rape.
