KANSAS CITY —Authorities are working to determine the cause of a house fire in Kansas City.
Just after 6:30a.m. Monday, crews responded to a reported house fire in the 4000 block of E. 70th Street, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
Upon arrival, crews reported smoke and fire showing from a two-story house.
During the primary search of the structure crews found a trapped occupant in the rear of the structure and were quickly able to remove them from the home.
The occupant was evaluated on scene but refused any additional medical care. No other injuries were reported at this incident, civilian or firefighter, according to Hopkins.
