Man admits cutting catalytic converters at Kan. car dealership

SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas man accused of cutting catalytic converters off of vehicles at a Kansas car dealership will not go to jail.

Judge Christopher Magana sentenced 33-year-old Sean Gisick to 12 months of probation, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office..

Gisick pleaded guilty to attempted theft.

In June of 2023,  a witness called 911 to report that they heard the sound of a Sawzall cutting metal coming from the Super Car Guy’s lot in the 100 block of N. West Street in Wichita, according to a media release.

Officers responded to the scene at 5a.m. and located Gisick of Wichita crawling on the parking lot with 3 catalytic convertors and a handheld Sawzall. Investigators located 3 vehicles in the car lot with their catalytic convertors cut and removed.
