GEARY COUNTY —Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire in an apartment building in Junction City.

On Wednesday afternoon, crews responded to a 3 story multifamily fire at 1541 West Ash, according to a social media report from the Junction City Fire Department Fire Chief Jason Lankas.

Crews found fire on the outside as well as the 2nd and 3rd story apartments with extension into the attic space. No one was injured. Five families were displaced. The Red Cross is assisting those families.
