RUSSELL COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 11a.m. Wednesday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Jeep SUV driven by Miyotzi A. Jemenez, 24, Sperry, OK., was westbound on Interstate 70 at Pioneer Road.
The driver lost control on wet and slushy roadway. The Jeep entered the median rolled and came to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane.
Jemenez was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported a passenger Rosa Stacy Bernal, 24, Haskell, OK., to the hospital in Russell. Jemenez was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
