MONTGOMERY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Monday in Montgomery County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford Taurus driven by Henry A. Bruhn, 62, Independence was southbound on Pennsylvania Avenue at Oak Street in Independence. The driver made a left turn and failed to yield. A northbound 1997 Harley Davidson driven by Ricky Jakee, 64, Independence collided with the car.
EMS transported Jakee to Labette Health Independence Healthcare Center where he was pronounced deceased. Bruhn was not injured. Jakee was not wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.
