3 Kan. adults, teen critically injured in crash on Valentine's night

JACKSON COUNTY —Three adults and a teen were injured in an accident just after 9p.m. Friday in Jackson County.

According to Sheriff Tim Morse, a 2021 Toyota Prius driven by 74-year-old Betty J. Montague Hoyt, was westbound on 110th Road and failed to yield to a northbound 2020 Nissan Altima driven by 64-year-old Regional E. Woods Topeka.

The cars collided in the intersection. Some of the occupants had to be Fire and EMS had to extricate some of the occupants from the wreckage.

The driver of the Toyota and the driver of the Nissan were both triaged code red, while the passenger of the Toyota, a 15-year-old girl from Hoyt and the passenger of the Nissan, 63-year-old Katherine M. Woods, of Topeka were triaged code yellow, according to Sheriff Morse.

All occupants were transported by Jackson County EMS and PBPN EMS to Topeka hospitals.

The Kansas Highway Patrol, Hoyt Police Department, Hoyt, Mayetta, PBPN Fire Departments responded to the incident.
