LABETTE COUNTY —Two people were injured in a crash involving a horse and buggy on a Kansas Highway just after 8a.m. Thursday in Labette County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Ford Escape driven by Landin Rayne Knickerbocker, 27, Neodesha, was eastbound on U.S. 400 two miles East of the U.S. 169 Junction.
The SUV rear-ended a Horse and Buggy that was halfway in the outside lane and shoulder.
EMS transported the driver of the buggy 35-year-old Elizabeth Schwartz and her passenger 16-year-old Priscilla Schwartz both of Cherryvale to Labette County Health in Parsons for treatment of serious injuries. Knickerbocker was not injured and properly restrained, according to the KHP. The KHP did not report details on injuries to the horse.
